The Department of Management, Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham, Kochi campus, successfully conducted the Ninth edition of its flagship event: ‘Asthra’, on January 17, 2020. The International Symposium on ‘CSR and Sustainability’ focused on “Decoding the CSR Ecosystem in India” and was held at Amriteshwari Hall, AIMS Hospital campus, Kochi.
The Ninth edition was aimed at creating a unique platform for discussions and deliberations on ‘Best Practices in the Domain Areas of CSR and Sustainability’ and for the creation of a knowledge network with eminent experts, business leaders, civil society stakeholders and aspiring management professionals.
Eminent speakers shared their knowledge and explored the complexities of CSR. Mr. Kochouseph Chitilapilly (CEO, V-Guard Industries Ltd.) was the keynote speaker. Other distinguished speakers were Professor P. K. Biswas (Dean(Research), IMT Ghaziabad); Dr. Meltem Alkoyak-Yildiz (Assistant Professor, Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham, Amritapuri, Kollam); Mr. K. S. Ramesh (Assistant Professor, BALM) and Mr. Abhishek Ranjan (Director of Sustainability and CSR, Brillio). Dr. Amalendu Jyotishi (Professor, Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham) was the rapporteur for the event. The event was attended by various people including students and corporate practitioners from various parts of the country.
Chakravyuh, the trailblazer to Asthra, comprised of a Design Thinking Workshop and a Business Plan Competition held respectively on 15th and 16th of January 2020. The interactive workshop helped students to improve their entrepreneurial skills and solve challenges through a structured thinking process. The B-Plan competition provided a platform for aspiring entrepreneurs to develop and pitch their ideas in front of experienced judges. The event was conducted in association with Amrita Technology Business Incubator (TBI).
