Amrita School of Business, Kochi, conducted the annual management festival of the campus titled ‘ASTHRA’, the eighth edition of the fest on March 8, 2019 . This year’s Asthra was themed ‘Managing Business in a VUCA World’ and was held at AIMS Hospital Campus, Kochi.
The eighth edition of Asthra addressed the contemporary topic of uncertainties prevailing in today’s business scenario. This international platform provided a forum for exchange of new ideas in the area of management in the corporate world.
It brought together leading researchers, corporate practitioners and other subject matter experts on a single platform. Dr. Angappa Gunasekaran, Dean and Professor at School of Business & Public Administration, California State University, Bakersfield, USA, was the keynote speaker. Other eminent speakers included Dr. Rajkanth Raju, Deputy Manager, Ford Motor Company, India; Mr. Hiren Gandhi, Co-founder and Director, Urbanpods and Dr. Sanjeev K. Singh, Medical Superintendent, AIMS, Kochi. The event was attended by almost 200 people including students and corporate practitioners from various parts of the country.
Prana, a pre-Asthra event conducted by Amrita School of Business, Kochi, became a platform for the differently abled youth to showcase their talents. The School donated wheelchairs and walking sticks for the differently abled at this event.
As a precursor to Asthra, the School also conducted Chakravyuh, a B-Plan competition, on March 7, 2019. It acted as a platform for budding entrepreneurs to pitch their ideas in front of an experienced jury. The prime objective of Chakravyuh was to provide an opportunity to students and professionals to present their business plans, bring them to the limelight, thereby unleashing the entrepreneurs in them. The event was conducted with the support of Amrita Technology Business Incubator (TBI).
