Ms. Keerthana Balakrishnan, Class of 2017, Amrita School of Business, Coimbatore, won first prize addressing a social issue at the Student Management Day 2017, held at Karunya University, Coimbatore. Ms. Keerthana’s presentation was on the topic: A Humanistic Approach to Understand and Combat Gender- based Violence. Ms. Keerthana expressed her gratitude to her mentors: Dr. Mridula Sahay, Prof. Hemamala, Dr. R. G. Priyadarshini, Dr. Rajiv Prasad, and Prof. Shri Krishnan, faculty members of ASB Coimbatore, for her achievement.
The event was organized by Coimbatore Management Association (CMA) as a part of its annual management day celebration. More than 50 students from various b-schools in Coimbatore and 300+ members from various walks of life were a part of the Management Day celebration.
On the occasion, CMA also honored several entrepreneurs in Coimbatore with awards. The best entrepreneur award was bestowed to P. Sundararajan, Chairman and Managing Director of S.P. Apparels Ltd. The best SME award was given to Anand Purushothaman, CEO, Payoda Technologies Pvt. Ltd. Ranjana Sinha, Managing Director, Café Totaram, and several other eatery outlets in Coimbatore won the best entrepreneur award. Activities like debates and simulation games for the students were also part of the event.
