The Department of English and Languages, School of Arts and Sciences, Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham, Kochi, organized a visit to Kalamandalam, Cheruthuruthy in the district of Thrissur, Kerala, on August 20, 2015. It is one of the most renowned places for the traditional art forms of Kerala. The visit was organized by the department as part of Vidyamritam 2015. The students were accompanied by the Director, Dr. U. Krishnakumar, Dr. M. Rajesh, Dr. C.S. Jayaraman and Sri. M. Ramachandran and other faculty members. A demonstration on the traditional art forms of Kerala was arranged by the Kalamandalam authority. Kathakali and ChakyarKoothu were performed by the eminent Kalamandalam artist and trainees. The performance concluded with an interactive session between students and artists. The students also visited the Nila Campus.
