Rahul Krishnan, Project Associate & PhD student, Amrita Center for Wireless Networks and Applications (AmritaWNA), Amritapuri, presented research papers titled QRS axis based classification of electrode interchange in wearable ECG devices and A Low Cost Remote Cardiac Monitoring Framework for Rural Regions at the 5th EAI International Conference on Wireless Mobile Communication and Healthcare (Transforming healthcare through innovations in mobile and wireless technologies)- MOBIHEALTH 2015 held fromOctober 14-16 at London, Great Britain.
Rahul Krishnan is working on mobile healthcare devices at AmritaWNA. The presented works were part of the Amrita Spandanam project which aims to provide low cost mobile heart health monitoring systems for the rural population.
The first paper dealt with a novel method in detecting lead misplacement in wearable ECG devices working on Mason-Likar electrode placement configuration, while the second paper described Amrita Spandanam remote heart monitoring framework which is currently being tested for deployment in remote villages.
