The entry titled “Enabling Laboratory Skill Training Post-COVID-19,” was selected as second in the E-Learning category of the 2020 International E-Learning Awards, given by the IELA. Amrita’s Wireless Remote Laboratory also got an honorable mention.
These awards recognize Amrita’s efforts in deploying free educational tools and promoting their outreach to over 5 million usages amongst students, professors and institutions. As part of its Virtual Laboratory project, Amrita currently has built over 300 online laboratories that are freely available online as part of the Government of India’s National Mission on Education (NMEICT).
In times of post COVID19, e-learning, especially laboratory skill training, is becoming vital and these freely available online labs can be accessed from the safety of a home or any other place from an internet-enabled computer.
