Team bi0s from Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham, Amritapuri campus, participated in the annual Black Hat Europe Conference held in London from December 5-6, 2018.
Mahesh Hari Sarma, second year student from the Department of Computer Science and Engineering, School of Engineering, Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham, Amritapuri campus, was awarded a student scholarship to attend the annual conference. BlackHat Europe was attended by 2000+ enthusiasts from 100+ countries. The conference presented the latest research and development in cyberspace and it was also a platform to meet like-minded hackers.
The BlackHat security conference consists of briefings, training and also a business hall. The briefing and talks gather top security researchers from around the world, who explain how they hack into various consumer applications like web browsers and operating systems.
One of the most interesting talks was the keynote, “Developments and Challenges in Cybersecurity from the Nation-State Perspective” by Marina Kaljurand, who served as Estonian Foreign Minister. In the Business Hall, companies showed off their security solutions. The conference showcased how the security and business industry works and thrives together.
