NITI Aayog Vice-Chairman Dr. Arvind Panagariya presented the FICCI National Award for Excellence in Technology to Prof. Kamal Bijlani, Director, Amrita E-Learning Research Lab, Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham on November 10th, 2016, at Fridayat Vigyan Bhawan, New Delhi.
The award ceremony took place during the 12th FICCI Higher Education Summit 2016, which was inaugurated by Hon’ble HRD Minister Shri. Prakash Javadekar, along with Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Shri. Naidu and European Union Director General for Culture and Education Ms. Martine Reicherts.
Prof. Bijlani said, “This recognition is a testimony to the massive implementation of A-VIEW (Amrita Virtual Interactive E-Learning World) across 11,000 institutions in India. A-VIEW is a live audio-video educational platform where a single teacher can reach to tens of thousands of students simultaneously anywhere in the world.”
The Excellence Awards has been instituted by the industry to recognize and felicitate achievements of universities/higher educational institutions and individuals for improving the quality of Higher Education in India, through visionary thinking, adopting process innovation and disruptive technology.
