Amrita Center for Research in Analytics & Technologies for Education (AmritaCREATE), Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham, organised Online Labs workshops, for the first time, at different schools in United Arab Emirates (UAE), as part of the Online Labs training programme from 11th to 22nd September, 2017. More than one hundred teachers from several schools participated in these training programmes.
The training session was initiated by Rathnam Chenthamarakshan, Project Manager, AmritaCREATE. She gave introduction about Online Labs and explained in detail about the experiments on the website. A demo on Continuous and Comprehensive Evaluation (CCE) was also done after the OLabs training Session. The whole program greatly interested the participants, evoked their curiosity and made them aware of the significance of Online Labs in the present day curriculum. After a demo session, an Online Labs hands-on session was also held for the participants. The program concluded with distribution of Online Labs CDs, discussion and feedback session with the teachers.
Mr. Muhammed, teacher at Grace Indian School, UAE, said, “I have been using Online Labs for 2 years. The concept is really useful for both teachers and students. I had some issues accessing simulator part at times, but after this workshop the issues were rectified and now I can make use of Olabs to my students in full swing”.
