Dr. K. Sankaran, Registrar, Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham, and Dr. Prashant R. Nair, Vice-Chairman – Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC), Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham, Coimbatore campus, actively contributed to the thematic sessions of the UGC Southern Zone Conference on Implementation of National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 organized by University Grants Commission (UGC) at SASTRA Deemed University, Thanjavur, Tamil Nadu on 5 January 2024. Representing Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham at the conclave, Dr. Sankaran and Dr. Prashant provided concrete suggestions on NEP2020 implementation strategies in the brainstorming sessions of the themes, capacity building of teachers for quality education, and governance & autonomy, respectively. 200+ university administrators from South India attended the conference, which was presided over by Dr. M. Jagadesh Kumar, Chairman, of UGC. Dr. Sankaran and Dr. Prashant also had a brief interaction with the UGC chairman.
