Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham’s Amritapuri Campus will observe World Car Free Day on September 22 by conducting a bicycle rally and and a 10 k.m Fun Run from Karunagappally to the campus involving many students and staff.
Car Free Day is a worldwide event that encourages greener methods of travel to encourage people to use alternative modes of transport. For the fifth consecutive year Amritapuri campus will take part in Car-Free Day. The objective of the day is to promote the use of public transportation, car sharing and emission–free vehicles as an effort to address the crisis of environmental pollution.
P. Prakash, City Police Commissioner of Kollam and Indian Cricketer Sreesanth will be this year’s guest of honours.
