A team comprising Ms. Dixita S. and Mr. Vishveshwaran M., final-year B.Tech Electrical and Electronics Engineering (EEE) students from Amrita School of Engineering, Coimbatore, mentored by Dr. K.R.M. Vijaya Chandrakala, Associate Professor, showcased exceptional talent at the 7th Annual ELGi Technology Day. The event, hosted by ELGi Equipments Limited at Le Meridien, Coimbatore, recognized their project as one of the Top Three concepts, earning them the First Technical Presenter Award.

The team presented their innovative work titled, “Development of Indigenous High-Power Density (5kW/kg) Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motor (PMSM) for Electric Mobility Applications”. Competing against leading engineering institutions, their project stood out after undergoing three rigorous rounds of evaluations, showcasing technical expertise, innovation, and ingenuity.

The event was graced by distinguished industry leaders, including Dr. Venu Madhav K., Director – Product Excellence and Innovation, ELGi Equipments Limited; Dr. Jairam Varadaraj, Managing Director, ELGi Equipments Ltd.; Mr. S. Prabhakaran, Vice-President of Volvo Penta Industrial; Mr. Rohit Pandita, Vice-President of Tor-ai; and Dr. Debanshu Roy, Principal Engineer, SKF Engineering and Lubrication India Pvt Ltd.

In addition to recognizing young engineering talent, the day featured a product launch and discussions on cutting-edge innovations shaping the future of technology and industry.
