Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham, along with its distinguished clubs, amFOSS and Team bi0s, proudly took part in Cython 2024. Our team clinched the prestigious prize of 3 lakh INR for their groundbreaking project on the “Development of Tools for Android Kernel Debugging Enabling Vulnerability Analysis.” This remarkable project tackles a crucial aspect of cybersecurity by facilitating penetration testing of Android OS versions provided by manufacturers, thereby bolstering government capabilities to protect digital infrastructure. The team’s innovative tool automates the modification of Android firmware to include a debugging interface, enabling remote kernel debugging. This tool’s evaluation was based on the number of phone models demonstrated and its overall efficacy, making it a significant advancement in Android security.
Our talented team comprised Siddarth Menon (AIE, 2nd Year), Ivin Joel Abraham (AIE, 2nd Year), Jatin Khanna (AIE, 2nd Year), and Hemanth Krishnakumar (CSE, 2nd Year). Their hard work and dedication were key to this success.
This prestigious event was organized by the National Center for International Information Proficiency and Cyber Security (NCIIPC) in collaboration with the Foundation for Innovation and Technology Transfer (FITT) and the Indian Institute of Technology, Delhi (IIT Delhi). Aimed at promoting innovation and entrepreneurship in the deep-tech domain, Cython 2024 placed a strong emphasis on cybersecurity tooling.
In a notable outreach effort, the Cython organizing team visited several colleges across India. On March 18th, Jatin Wahane visited Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham, inspiring our team to participate in the competition and ultimately achieve success.
Congratulations to our talented team for their outstanding achievement and for bringing pride to Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham!
