Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham was represented in the 1st Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce & Industry (FICCI) Higher Education Committee Meetings 2025 held at Symbiosis International University, Pune on 13 February 2025. 75+ senior administrators of various premier universities and higher educational institutions in India participated in the committee meeting, which was conducted in hybrid mode. Various discussion points included themes for FICCI knowledge reports that advocate policy recommendations to the government of India; representations to the government of India with respect to recent regulations concerning faculty qualification and recruitment, recognition of prior learning, and participation in FICCI academic delegations to various geographies such as Arab states and the United Kingdom. Dr. Prashant R. Nair, Head, IQAC, of Amrita’s Coimbatore campus, represented AMRITA at the FICCI higher education committee meetings and provided concrete suggestions with respect to the themes of the knowledge reports and accelerating the pace of academic reforms towards NEP2020 implementation. The meeting was presided over by Dr. Vidya Yeravdekar, Chair, FICCI Higher Education Committee and Pro-Chancellor, Symbiosis International University, and coordinated by Dr. Rajesh Pankaj, Director-Education & Skills, FICCI.
