Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham participated in an elite Association of Indian Universities (AIU) South Zone University Conference 2024-2025 held at Vellore Institute of Technology (VIT), Vellore on 10 and 11 January 2025.  The conference’s theme was ‘Rethinking Assessment and Evaluation’ and the conference saw the participation of 100+ academic leaders such as vice-chancellors, registrars, and IQAC heads from universities all over South India. This conference served as an avenue to provide concrete suggestions for AIU to advocate policy recommendations to the government of India in 4 themes namely Innovation, Skilling, Ranking and Assessment; Innovative Assessment Methods and Experiential Learning; Viability of One Nation One Exam System, and Continuous Comprehensive Assessment Techniques.  The AIU conference was inaugurated by His Excellency Shri R.N. Ravi, Hon’ble Governor of Tamil Nadu and the valedictory address was given by Prof. Ganesan Kannabiran Director, NAAC.  The presidential address was delivered by Prof. Vinay Kumar Pathak, President, AIU & Vice-Chancellor, CSJM University, Kanpur.  Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham’s best practice, Live-in-Labs was showcased as a poster during the conclave for the benefit of the participants, Dr. Panchanatham N. and Dr.K. Sivaprasad, Vice-Chancellors of Gandhigram Rural Institute, Dindigul and APJ Abdul Kalam Kerala Technological University respectively.   Dr. Prashant R. Nair, Vice-Chairman – IQAC, Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham, Coimbatore campus, represented the university at the conference.  He also interacted with Dr. (Mrs.) Pankaj Mittal, Secretary General, AIU, and the President of AIU during the conference.
