Ekatva ’14 – The Tech Fest at Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham, Bengaluru campus witnessed budding young innovators in the fields of Science and Technology through “Innovator of the day” event conducted by Amrita TBI in conjunction with Ekatva.The event attracted over 280 applicants from Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham and nearby colleges in Bengaluru making it one of the highest participating events at Ekatva. As part of the competition, students were required to provide solutions to pre-defined problem statements that covered areas such as ICT, environment, energy etc. It was wondrous to see interesting innovative ideas in fields such as 3D printing, solar panel efficiency, battery energy saving solutions, alternative fuel technologies etc.
Harsh Solya was awarded the Innovator of the day on 7th November and Pramod, Meenakshi were awarded Whiz Kids title as second and third runners up. On 8th November, Vishal bagged the Innovator award followed by Akash Nambodari and Giri Prasath.
The event also exposed students to several innovations and entrepreneurship opportunities available at Amrita TBI especially the popular student innovation contest titled Amrita TBI-TIDE innovation contest that equips students with all pertinent skill sets to solve every day challenges with innovative solutions and business edge. Over the last four editions, the contest has generated over 1000 applications, with three patents to be filed, with one startup to be incubated and one more in process.
The entire team of 13 students selected as Amrita TBI Student Brand Ambassadors of Bengaluru Campus made the event a massive success.
