Amrita School of Ayurveda conducted its first-ever offline seminar on Pharmacovigilance, “Amrita Suraksha 2023”, on 8th January 2023.
DrRaghurama Bhatta U, President of the Medical Assessment and Rating Board for the Indian System of Medicine, NCISM, Government of India, was our chief guest and delivered the inaugural address.
DrRabinarayanan Acharya, Director General CCRAS, New Delhi, Dr Ghalib R. Associate Professor, Coordinator, NPvCC, AlIA, New Delhi, DrSulaiman C. T Senior Scientist, Center for Medicinal Plant Research, Arya Vaidyashala, Kottakal. Dr Rajmohan V., Associate Professor, RSBK, Government Ayurveda College, Thiruvananthapuram, and Dr K. Unnikrishna Pillai, Chief Physician, Amritanjali Ayurveda Hospital Kollam, were the resource persons. Following were the topics for scientific sessions:
UG scholars, PG scholars, faculties, practitioners, PhD from various institutions attended the program. A total of 350 participants were present. All were presented with participation certificates.
A poster competition was conducted for the students and teachers on ADRs and Pharmacovigilance in Ayurveda. Forty-five enrolments were there, including students, faculties, practitioners and PhD Scholars. Dr Pratibha G, PG scholar, department of Prasooti Tantra and SthreeRoga, bagged the First prize, Amrita School of Ayurveda, Bensam and Anub Samuel 2nd year BAMS students, Maria Ayurveda College bagged Second prize and DrResmi S, PG Scholar Department of Dravyaguna, Government Ayurveda Medical College Trippunithura bagged Third Prize.
In connection with the seminar, Chakyarkooth (is a performance art from Kerala, India. It is primarily a highly refined monologue where the performer narrates episodes from Hindu epics (such as the Ramayana and the Mahabharata) and stories from the Puranas) it was presented by DrEdanadRajan Nambiar, ChakyarkoothKulapati, at Amrita Ayurveda College on the 7th at 5 pm.
