Team Vision, a trailblazing student team of 2016-2020 batch of B.Tech. in Computer Science & Engineering (CSE), School of Engineering, Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham, Coimbatore, has added another feather in its cap by securing a top 25 rank out of 40,000 teams worldwide, in the Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) EngiNX 2018 contest.
EngiNX is an engineering design & innovation contest organized by TCS – Engineering & Industrial Services Unit. The theme of the contest was ‘Digital Twin’. A Digital Twin is an exact copy or a replica of a physical asset or a system and behaves similarly to an IoT device. A digital twin, when conceived right from the conceptual design phase through the deployment phase, will enable a complete digital footprint of the product. This is the sixth season of this prestigious contest. Amrita CSE team is developing a digital twin for logistics and supply chain management process.
Dr. Latha Parameswaran, Chairperson, Department of Computer Science & Engineering, School of Engineering, Coimbatore, said, “Innovation is the motto of the CSE department. We have been constantly encouraging our students and faculty members to innovate in cutting-edge technologies like the digital twin, IoT and showcase these in international and national contests.
