Sevagen Veeraswamy of amFOSS club of Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham, Amritapuri campus, achieved a rare feat by being selected as a foundation member of the GNOME Foundation. Sevagen has been an active developer and contributor to GNOME apps including Gedit, which is the default text editor in Ubuntu systems. He is also now eligible for grants from the foundation, which he can avail for research works, attending conferences, events, etc.
