Yashwanth Abhilash Karanam, BTech Electrical and Electronics Engineering (EEE) student, has been selected as an Officer (Aeronautical Engineer) in The Indian Air Force. He secured an All India Rank 38. He cleared his Air Force Command Admission Test (AFCAT) exam in March 2021 after which appeared for Services Selection Board (SSB) Interview and successfully cracked it in September 2021 followed by medicals in the same month. It was his very first attempt at the Indian Air Force. He will be joining the Indian Air Force Academy, Dundigal, Hyderabad, on January 16, 2022, for training. His father retired as an Honorary Captain from The Indian Army in December 2020 after 33 years of service to the nation. He always dreamed of joining the Indian Army and serving the nation.
