The United Nations has observed 15th October as World Students’ Day every year from 2010 on the birthday of the Missile Man of India – Dr. A. P. J. Abdul Kalam. Even though Kalam was a scientist by profession, his favorite job was teaching and that’s how he wanted the world to remember him. On October 12, 2019, Amrita School of Pharmacy observed World Students’ Day with a talk by Ms. Revathy Sreekumar, 2nd-year B. Pharm. student, stressing the struggles of a newspaper boy who later became the most loved President of India. A video presentation on Kalam’s life “A Salam to Kalam” was also viewed by the gathering.
