The 7th semester B.Pharm students of Amrita School of Pharmacy bagged 1st and 2nd prizes in the Swaccha Bharat contest held in relation with the National Conference on “ Youth in Social Change” organized by Manipal University on August 5-6, 2017. The aim of the conference was to strengthen and promote Daan Utsav celebrations especially among the youth and the student community in India. Three teams from the school were shortlisted for the final out of 100 entries from 70 colleges, and two of them bagged prizes.
The first prize of Rs.15,000 was won by Mr. Thomas Kuruvila, Ms.Sangeetha M. & Ms. Dona Sheba Scaria of B.Pharm 7th semester and their topic of presentation was “Waste Hub: A New Scope for Effective Waste Management Through Digital India”. The second prize of Rs.10,000 was won by Ms. Athira Anilkumar, Ms. Athira P. and Ms. Sumi Sugathan of B.Pharm of 7th semester for the presentation of the topic, “Utilization of Waste Paper Products as a Raw Material Source of Cellulose for Cellulose Based Industries.”
