IEEE PES student branch chapter, Amrita School of Engineering, Bengaluru, organized an industrial visit to CPRI (Central Power Research Institute), Bengaluru, on March 17, 2016. The visit aimed to foster technical education and motivate young engineers. Pre-final year BTech EEE students and MTech Power electronics II semester students, accompanied by  Dr. K. Deepa, who coordinated the visit, and Dr. Shankar S., visited the power systems and insulation laboratory at CPRI.

During the guided tour of the laboratory, the students learned about the testing and online monitoring of relays for transmission and distribution system protection.  This educational initiative by IEEE PES inspired several students to become members of IEEE.
