A talk on the relevance of IOT (internet of things) was organized by the IEEE PES and IAS Student Branch Chapter on 20th February, 2016, at Amrita School of Engineering, Bengaluru.
The speaker was Mr. Ragunandan, who is currently working as an application engineer at National Instruments (N.I.). Mr. Raghunandan is an alumnus of ASE and during his college days he was actively involved with IEEE as a student chair for one and half years. The targeted audience were BTech, MTech students.
Mr. Raghunandan started his presentation discussing the impact of IOT in various industrial fields and how N.I. is revolutionizing this field. The lecture was very interactive and with the speaker being an alumnus, his talk definitely resonated with the students. The lecture also explained how N.I. is involved in making complex algorithms connecting the front end machines to the smart controls through the cloud. Mr. Raghunandan also emphasized the crucial role of big data in this industry. He also mentioned the relevance of the N.I Yantra competition, which is conducted for the betterment of college students.
