The Department of Oral & Maxillofacial Pathology and Microbiology, Amrita School of Dentistry hosted and organized the XX Annual State Conference and the X Post graduate Convention of the Kairali Society of Oral & Maxillofacial Pathologists (KSOMP), at Hotel Renai Cochin on the 16th & 17th of March 2024. Around 125 Oral Pathology faculty members and Post graduate students from various Institutions from within Kerala as well as from Karnataka and Tamil Nadu attended the two-day conference. 46 scieitific papers were presented by both Faculty and PG students.

An array of star speakers, eminent personalities in their field of study, gave Guest Lectures. These included Dr. Vidya Jha (HoD – Centre for advanced Genomics, AIMS), Dr. Smitha NV (Addl Professor, Pathology, AIMS), Dr. Manu Raj (Professor, Health Science Research, AIMS), Dr. Anna P Joseph (HoD, Oral Pathology, PMS Dental College, Trivandrum) and Dr. Deepu George Mathew and team (Annoor Dental College, Muvattupuzha).

The Final round of the Jacob Zachariah memorial Gold medal competition for UG students was also conducted. Meritorious awards were also given away to top scoring UG and PG students in the subject. The formal inauguration of the event was done by Dr. Balagopal Varma R (Principal, Amrita School of Dentistry).
