A comprehensive workshop titled ‘Geriacon 2024’ was conducted by Amrita School of Dentistry, focusing on addressing dental health concerns prevalent among the elderly population. The event saw prominent figures in the field of geriatric dentistry convene to share insights and expertise.
Dr. TV Padmanabhan, President of Association of Geriatrics Dentistry, inaugurated the workshop, highlighting the importance of addressing dental diseases in old age. The function was presided over by Dr. Prem Nair, Group Medical Director, Amrita Hospitals, emphasizing the hospital’s commitment to advancing healthcare for all age groups.
Distinguished speakers including Dr. Smita Athavale, Dr. R. Balagopal Varma, Dr. V Manju, Dr. Subrahmania Iyer, and Dr. Rakesh, among others, delivered enlightening talks on various aspects of dental care for the elderly. Participants engaged in informative sessions and discussions exploring innovative treatments and management strategies tailored to the unique needs of elderly patients. The workshop was led by esteemed experts such as Dr. Priya Vijayakumar, Dr. Murali Srinivasan, Dr. Asha Narde, Dr. George P. John, Dr. Nivedita, and Dr. Tejal Patel.
