Amrita School of Dentistry celebrated Research Day dedicated to extensive research and innovation. This event brought together a diverse community, from esteemed guests to faculties, scholars and students, creating a harmonious blend of research and collaboration. The theme of the event was “Applications of Artificial Intelligence in Dentistry”

Chief Guest Dr. Om Prakash Kharbanda, Pro-vice chancellor of Health Sciences at Ramaiah University of Applied Sciences, Bangalore, shared profound insights during his address, shedding light on the challenges of dental research in India. Dr. Balagopal Varma, Principal, Amrita School of Dentistry delivered the welcome address. Dr. Chandrashekar Janakiram, Research Head, Amrita School of Dentistry talked about the research updates of dental school. Felicitations were delivered by Dr. Prem Nair (Provost, Medical Director, AIMS) and Dr. D M Vasudevan (Associate Dean of Research, AIMS). Research day awards were given to faculties and students who received grants (Extramural, ICMR-STS and Amrita Seed Grants) in recognition of their excellent research pursuits.

The inaugural event was followed by various activities in Amrita School of Dentistry. The event had a scientific poster presentation that depicted a rich tapestry of research efforts at the school of dentistry. Faculties, PhD candidates, undergraduates, and postgraduates showcased their research topics and shared a wide range of research areas paving a path for the future of dentistry.

Attendees witnessed the unfolding of future patient care using artificial intelligence through the display of dental innovation in table clinics. Students demonstrated prototypes of cutting-edge technologies and treatment methods, showcasing our commitment to staying at the forefront of dental care.

The Research Day also featured an essay competition, a quiz competition and a very interesting game section. ‘Gyana Vyuham,’ this joyous maze tested dental knowledge and problem-solving skills in an interactive manner. An interactive quiz competition was arranged by Department of Orthodontics.
The series of events profoundly impacted students by providing a platform for academic and personal growth. The day served as a catalyst for empowerment, equipping students with valuable insights, skills, and a deeper connection to the ever-evolving landscape of dental research and care.
