At Amrita School of Communication (ASCOM) we believe that better communication will lead to a better world.We educate students in the contemporary approaches and techniques in communication to help them develop a comprehensive, intellectual, ethical and creative outlook as practitioners and leaders in the professions and industries of journalism and mass communication.
Our curriculum is based on the internationally-acclaimed UNESCO model with modifications to suit the changing needs and technological advances. The infrastructure and service facilities include a modern broadcast studio and labs, student exchange programmes, internships – all geared to help students make a smooth transition from classrooms to the industry.
The School conducts a CAP Test (Communication Aptitude Test) every year to its 3 year B.A Mass Communication programme, 2 year M.A Communication programme and Post Graduate Diploma in Journalism (PGDJ) offered at its Coimbatore campus.
Candidates who satisfy the eligibility criteria will be admitted to the first year of the 3 year B.A, M.A and PGDJ programmes, based on their performance in the CAP Test, Interview and Group Discussion (applicable only for M.A and PGDJ Programmes).
After completion, based on portfolio and merit, placements in media and allied industries are available to students in advertising agencies, newspaper publishing houses, animation and graphic design agencies, PR agencies, television news / entertainment channels, TV program production houses and corporate communication departments of companies.
