At the time when our beloved Chancellor Amma is spreading the messages of love towards every individual, extending helping hands to needy is an approach to follow her guidance and show gratitude to God for bestowing on us his mercy that enables us to help others. Every year, the students of the Department of Management, Kochi, participate in social outreach programs and contribute to the society in many different ways. The first social outreach programme of the session, on July 24, 2017, was a unique experience for the students who joined Prof. Sunanda Muralidharan, Chairperson, Department of Management, Kochi, and Ambika Madam to visit an area at the outskirt of the city and distributed kits containing provisions to nine families.
Prior to the visit, students collected money through voluntary donation. A part of the collected amount was used to buy provision kits that contained rice, dal, sugar, cooking oil, tea powder, etc., while the rest of the amount was donated for the treatment of a poor man suffering from liver cancer.
It is an experience for the students to feel blessed and understand their responsibility towards the underprivileged members of the society.
