Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham’s Amrita School of Business (ASB), Amritapuri Campus, and the Centre for Management Development (CMD), Trivandrum, Kerala, have entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to foster collaborative excellence in research, training, consulting, and project implementation. This strategic partnership aims to create a Centre of Research and Excellence, leveraging the strengths of both institutions for mutual growth and societal impact.
The Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the Centre for Management Development (CMD) and Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham was formally signed on October 7, 2024.
The MoU outlines a wide range of collaborations, including joint research projects in fields such as management, public policy, and entrepreneurship. ASB and CMD will also jointly offer interdisciplinary courses and seminars, focusing on capacity building for diverse sectors, including government officials, corporate professionals, and social entrepreneurs. Additionally, scholars from CMD will have the opportunity to enrol in PhD programs at ASB Campuses, ensuring the growth of academic and practical knowledge.
This partnership emphasizes significant project implementation in areas like sustainable livelihood generation, agricultural interventions, and empowering rural and urban societies. The collaboration promises to make a lasting impact on regional and national development goals. The agreement will be overseen by a Joint Steering Committee, ensuring the successful execution of the collaborative activities.
Dr. Binoy J. Kattadiyil, Director and Member Secretary of CMD, highlighted that this initiative presents a valuable opportunity for research scholars to actively participate in implementation projects across central, state, and private sectors. He noted that such engagement allows scholars to leverage their project work into meaningful careers, whether in academia or industry. With CMD’s strong connections to government departments and public sector entities, this collaboration will empower academicians and research scholars to contribute to the development of key areas such as economics, management, and social sciences.
