An awareness class on Cyber Crime was organized at Amrita School of Ayurveda on February 26, 2016. The program was organised in order to educate the students to make use of the facilities for the right purpose and to protect values to built a stable nation. The School has decided to cooperate with the Kerala State Youth Commission, Govt. of Kerala. The class started at 10.30 am after a formal function in the presence of Dr. Rabinarayan Tripathy, Vice Principal, Amrita School of Ayurveda; Mrs. Asha Unnithan,Coordinator Kerala State Youth Commission, Govt of Kerala; Mr. Arun Kumar, Cyber Cell, Trivandrum and Dr. Sharath, Asst. Prof. Dept. of Rachana Sareera, Amrita School of Ayurveda.
Cyber stalking, cell phone stalking, the activities of Cyber Cell Kerala, the common crimes reported, theft, cyber code, cyber terrorism, hacking of websites and bank accounts, pornography, social media abuse, cyber offense through smart phone, etc., were the main topics discussed in the class. The report from the students confirmed that the session helped them understand how to make use of social media safely and responsibly and how to keep personal data safe. They also were educated on how to make use of the Cyber Cell whenever they are in need.
The instructor succeeded in developing consciousness about avoiding the misuse of internet and how to use it in a healthy way. The class was concluded with a discussion session in which the students cleared their doubts regarding the topic. The instructor shared his experience in the field, which made the class very interesting and easy to understand. The session concluded at 4 pm and Amrita School of Ayurveda Vice Principal, Dr. Rabinarayan Tripathy, proposed the vote of thanks.
