‘Labour & Skills Department, Government of Kerala’ hosted ‘National Skill & Entrepreneurship Innovation Conclave’ to bring bright minds and relevant stakeholders of higher education Institutes for discussing how institutions leverage the new age technology for upskilling.

On this occasion, Dr. Bhavani Rao R. (UNESCO Chair in Women’s Empowerment and Gender Equality and Director, Ammachi Labs, Amritapuri), was invited as a speaker for this event. She spoke about redefining skill development in the new world and Ammachi Lab’s research in helping teaching new life skills and cognitive skills by using new-age technologies like robotics, haptics, artificial intelligence, and machine learning. Ammachi Labs had built 25 online skill development courses and running 9 Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Vikas Yojana centers where they use a blended learning approach for upgrading the skills.

This event was conducted from February 25 – 26, 2021, on the topic “Skill  Development in the New World Order: Leveraging New Age Digital Disruptions for Upskill”. Other speakers were Kamlesh Misra (Vice-Chancellor, Rishihood University), Arvind Bali (CEO, Telecom Sector Skill Council) and P.V.G. Menon (CEO, Electronic Sector Skill Council).
