A team of Amrita professors visited University of Twente, Netherlands. Arranged by the Amrita Center for International Programs, ACIP, the visit by the Amrita delegation facilitates thesis internships, student exchanges and new research collaborations between the two Universities. The University of Twente had visited Amrita previously and is keen to engage in sending their students to work with Amrita’s Live-in-Labs®, a multidisciplinary experiential learning program.
The Amrita team met with heads of several departments at Twente. The team from Amrita included Dr. Maneesha V. Ramesh, Dean of Amrita Center for International Programs and Director, Amrita Center for Wireless Networks and Applications (AmritaWNA), Amritapuri; Rao R. Bhavani, Director of Ammachi labs, Amritapuri; Dr. Krishnashree Achuthan, Dean of PG Programs, School of Engineering and Dr. Shyam Diwakar, Director of Amrita Computational Neuroscience and Neurophysiology and Associate Professor, Amrita School of Biotechnology, Amritapuri.
During the visit, Dr. Maneesha V. Ramesh highlighted Amrita’s IoT and Wireless Research in social and disaster domains. Prof. Bhavani Rao, the UNESCO chair for gender equality and women empowerment in India, has been in engagement with the University of Twente and was returning a previous visit from Twente. Prof. Krishnashree Achuthan represented Amrita PG programs and specifically, the Center for Cybersecurity Systems and Networks and the Technology Business Incubator. Prof. Shyam Diwakar of Amrita School of Biotechnology showcased life science projects at Amrita immediate impact studies.
