Amrita faculty members Ms. Gayathri Manikutty (Assistant Professor, Robotics for Education Research lead, Ammachi Labs)  and Dr. Prashant R. Nair (Vice-Chairman, Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) and Associate Professor, Department of Computer Science and Engineering, School of Engineering, Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham, Coimbatore campus) were recognized as “Top Mentors of Change” by Gems of Mentor India, an initiative of Atal Innovation Mission (AIM), NITI Aayog, India.

Gems of Mentor India is an initiative to recognize AIM’s exemplary mentors of change. AIM selected mentors who have shown outstanding commitment to mentoring over the last 12 months by helping schools navigate the pandemic to ensure continued tinkering and learning through virtual means.

Mr. Amitabh Kant (CEO of NITI Aayog ) and Dr. Chintan Vaishnav (Mission Director for Atal Innovation Mission (AIM),) launched the ‘Gems of Mentor India’ book, a memoir of inspiring stories of AIM’s Mentors Of Change from across India on October 1, 2021, the eve of Gandhi Jayanti.

The faculty members are also featured in the GEMS of Mentor India Handbook.
