Amrita Professor Sunil Moothedath Wins the Dr. MIMS Award 2014

Prof. Sunil Moothedath, Professor at the Amrita College of Nursing, Kochi won the Dr. MIMS Award 2014 for “Best Health Education Initiative through Media.” 

Dr. MIMS awards are instituted by the Malabar Institute of Medical Sciences (MIMS) to people who have made valuable contributions to the health sector. The award has been given to Prof. Sunil for his overall contributions towards educating the general public on various health-related topics through articles and cartoons published in leading health magazines and newspapers (Mathrubhumi Arogya Masika, Manorama Arogyam, Arogya Mangalam, Vanitha, Kanyaka, Mathrubhumi Daily, Deshabhimani Daily etc.).  

Prof. Sunil has published more than 100 health-related articles in various periodicals besides the articles in online editions of leading newspapers.

The Award which consists of Rs.1, 00,000/- as prize money, memento and certificate was presented to him on December 28, 2014 at Malabar Institute of Medical Sciences, Calicut by the Honorable Chief Minister of Kerala, Sri. Oommen Chandy.
