The Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) organized their 2nd edition of National Higher Education Conclave in Coimbatore with the theme “Governance and Quality Systems in Higher Education” on 18th &19th November 2015 at Hotel Le Meridien, Coimbatore.
Prof. Kamal Bijlani, Director, Amrita E-Learning Research Lab gave a keynote talk on Amrita Blended Learning Platforms which included A-VIEW (Amrita Virtual Interactive E-Learning World), MySangham Portal and HapticsTechnology, MySangham, an online vocational education portal developed by Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham’s research center AMMACHI Labs, was amongst the winners of Facebook’s Internet.org Innovation Challenge in India in October, 2015. A-VIEW received recognition from CISCO as one of the top internet innovations in 2014.
Several other dignitaries were present at the conference. Prof. Mangala Sunder, IIT Madras gave a brief talk on the “Use of Technology in Higher Education Delivery”. CR Swaminathan, Event Chairman, CII National Higher Education Conclave spoke about leveraging technology in course delivery, benefits of globalization, and development of a start-up ecosystem in propelling growth.
