A workshop on virtual learning project ‘Online Labs for School Lab Experiments’ was organized at Bharani Vidhyalaya Senior Secondary School, Karur, Tamil Nadu, on October 22, 2016, by AmritaCREATE, one of the research and project development wings of Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham. Eighty-five science teachers from twenty-five schools participated in the workshop.

Mr. Suresh Dhandapani, staff member of AmritaCREATE, explained Online Labs to the participants. During the demo session, he explained how to perform an experiment in Online Labs virtually. Later on, the participants got the opportunity to explore Online Labs in the computer lab of the school. After the training session, certificates of participation and free OLabs CDs were given to the participants for future reference.

“The session was really useful and it will surely help the students to understand the concepts clearly. The video attachment is really good and gives a detailed explanation of how the experiment has to be conducted in the real lab,” commented a participant after the training session.
