A webinar on the “Role of Computer and IT Professionals in Industry 4.0” was conducted on September 5, 2020, via Microsoft Teams by the Department of Computer Science, Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham, Mysuru Campus for over 200 UG students as participants.

Dr. Anantha Narayanan V., Assistant Professor, Computer Science and Engineering, Coimbatore campus, gave a talk on the Role of computer and IT Professionals in Industry 4.0.

Beginning the session with brief information on the Internet of Things and its insight into the future, he explained sensors and connectivity in detail along with detailing hardware components such as Arduino and Node MCU. Going further, Dr. Narayanan explained the domains where IoT is used and practically demonstrated the control of the water level using a different level sensor. In addition to this, he explained further practical demonstrations using the MQTT.

Giving an idea of cognitive intelligence in robotics and the importance of cognitive learning for the industrial robotics system, he concluded the session by providing a link to IoT projects as a reference for students
