A seminar on various process models of software engineering which support agile process development was held at Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham, Mysuru campus, on October 16, 2017. The resource person was Dr. J. Selvakumar, Associate Professor, Sri Ramakrishna Engineering College, Coimbatore.
The resource person demonstrated various working models which are currently used in IT industries such as Scrum, Extreme Programming, and Dynamic System Development Method, in particular, and also illustrated a few real-time applications where these models can be used. Dr. Selvakumar also provided the participants with a few case studies that revealed good exposure for the participants to understand the different scenarios and ways to logically apply those methods. This helped the participants understand the practical applicability of agile process models and their applications in various projects that are currently developed in the industry.
The last session of the seminar included the focus of Agile process models towards research. The students were exposed to the current and future research trends. They were motivated towards various research oriented projects where these process models could be used.
The students of MCA semester III and Integrated MCA semester III on the campus participated in this seminar and got ample knowledge on various agile processing platforms and software models which helped them in product and project development, which is a basic requirement for IT career.
