A Faculty Development Program on various funding agencies and ways to submit funding proposals was held at Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham, Mysuru campus, on October 16, 2017. The resource person was Dr. J. Selvakumar, Associate Professor, Sri Ramakrishna Engineering College, Coimbatore. All the faculty members of the Department of Computer Science and a few faculty members from the research committee were also present.

Since Dr. Selvakumar worked with various funded projects, he shared his vast experience of working with funded projects and various agencies to be approached for funds. He also furnished details on initiating the funding proposals as a beginner, to find its suitability and applicability for various agencies. He also suggested, as beginners, let the initial focus be more on consultancy projects with various industries. In this way, faculty and students may also be involved in developing, in addition to having good publication opportunities. This would help the faculty to proceed with further major funding opportunities in various national and international funding agencies.

The program concluded with an interactive session sharing ideas among the faculty members.
