Rajiv and Samanyu, the M. Tech. students of Mechanical Engineering Department, Amrita School of Engineering, Coimbatore, had an opportunity to be at UPC ( ETSEIB ), Spain, because of the student exchange program in at Amrita.

School of Industrial Engineering of Barcelona (Escola Tècnica Superior d’Enginyeria Industrial de Barcelona, ETSEIB) is a university that is part of Technical University of Catalonia (Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya, UPC).The ETSEIB, founded in 1851, is the biggest engineering college in Catalonia. The university offers a classic state of the art library and other facilities including gymnasiums, playground for the student.

Both Rajiv and Samanyu shared their personal experiences,” We have completed our project here at Barcelona. I would like to thank Amrita’s International Office in giving me a wonderful opportunity and a wonderful University like UPC Barcelona to carry out the same. We had an amazing five months experience in Barcelona. Our mentor Dr Emilio Hernández Chiva was an amazing person and helped us throughout with his valuable and informative suggestions.”

Under the guidance of Dr. Emilio Hernández, they received an opportunity to work for a company called Ashenkoff Formula to design a new formula vehicle.They also assisted him as volunteers for Electro car racing organized by vehicle electric mobility.They were also part of The Erasmus Student Network, a small student organization for exchange students, where they got to meet the students from different countries and also learn about the cultures of different places.
