The team of 2012 batch MBBS students of Amrita School of Medicine comprising of Aaditya Rameshwara and Jishnu Narayanan Nair won first prize in the Compos Mentis 2016 – National Forensic Medicine and Toxicology Quiz conducted by Kasturba Medical College, Manipal on September 15, 2016.
The quiz was conducted as a part of the IGCLA (Indo-German Conference of Lindau Alumni) programme at Manipal University. This is the first time that Amrita School of Medicine has won this prestigious award that is coveted by medical colleges across the country, and for which there was stiff competition among some of the best MBBS students of India. Amrita students emerged victorious after 6 gruelling rounds of quizzing including a visual round and a rapid fire round, involving 40 teams. Aaditya and Jishnu received the Compos Mentis 2016 trophy from Dr. Ullas Kamath, Dean of Melaka Manipal Medical College, Manipal. Both the winners were also given certificates of appreciation and cash awards of Rs 10,000 each.
