A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was recently signed between U-Hopper Srl (an Italian company developing Big Data Analytics and AI solutions) and Amrita Center for Research and Development (ACRD). The collaboration engages the work of Dr. Shyam Diwakar, Associate Professor at Amrita School of Biotechnology, on a study about the analysis of virtual lab data using Machine Learning.
In the project, Amrita’s Computational Neuroscience and Neurophysiology Lab team will use advanced machine learning methods and tools to analyze how students’ diversity influences their behavior in online education, using data from the Amrita University’s Virtual Labs project.
Daniele Miorandi (CEO of U-Hopper) said, “We are very enthusiastic about joining up with Amrita’s team and we are looking forward to seeing the results of such interesting collaboration. We will define together some experiments in order to test the value that machine learning can generate in the educational sector and identify potential innovation opportunities.”
Amrita’s Dr. Shyam Diwakar added, “We do expect the experiments will help collect relevant insights about students’ diversity; this is indeed the goal of our project. This way, we hope we can contribute to enhancing the richness of the Virtual Labs and turn the experiments into valuable use-cases.”
