As a best-performing Innovation Ambassador (IA) for the second consecutive year, Dr. Prashant R. Nair, Vice-Chairman, Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC), Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham Coimbatore campus, showcased best practices in innovation & entrepreneurship of Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham in the regional meet of Institution’s Innovation Council (IIC) organized by the Ministry of Education’s Innovation Cell (MIC) & AICTE and held at Nehru Institutions, Coimbatore on 4th December, 2023. Representing Amrita’s IIC, Dr. Prashant showcased best practices such as grace marks for hackathons & competitions, Amrita Center for Entrepreneurship (ACE), and linkage to Atal Tinkering Labs (ATL) of various schools. Dr. S. Balamurugan, Chairperson, Department of Electrical & Electronics Engineering (EEE), and Mr. Krishnan R., Head-Entrepreneurship Development, Corporate & Industry Relations (CIR), serve as President and Convener, respectively, of the IIC of Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham Coimbatore campus.

The IIC regional meet saw the participation of 1300+ faculty & students from 230+ higher educational institutions in Tamil Nadu and Kerala. Various highlights of this regional meet, keynoted by Mr. Dipan Kumar Sahu, Assistant Innovation Director, MIC, included knowledge sharing sessions; project showcase by IIC of various institutions & startups; Udyami Bazaar (Entrepreneurs Market); pitching by early-stage start-up founders and round table discussion with angel investors, incubators, and institutional heads towards building a regional eco-system for innovation & entrepreneurship.
