Dr. Prashant R. Nair, Vice-Chairman – Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC), Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham, Coimbatore campus, has been nominated to an Andhra Pradesh State Council of Higher Education (APSCHE) Expert Committee. The mandate of this expert committee is to prepare a strategic action plan to bring 2 government universities of Andhra Pradesh (AP) state, Acharya Nagarjuna University, and Andhra University into the top 10 of the NIRF rankings by 2027. This task force visited Acharya Nagarjuna University, Nagarjunanagar, Guntur district, AP on 25 and 26 October 2024. The team had detailed interactions with Prof. K. Rama Mohan Rao, Vice-Chairman, APSCHE, and the competent authorities of the university such as Prof. K. Gangadhara Rao, Vice-Chancellor i/c; Prof. K. Ratna Sheila Mani, Rector i/c; Prof. G. Simhachalam, Registrar i/c; Deans; Principals; vice-principals and the IQAC team. The expert committee also interacted with non-teaching staff and establishment staff chaired by the registrar, controller of examinations, and finance and visited the various facilities such as IQAC, central library, and centers of excellence. Prof. Zubiada Ansari, IQAC Director of Jamia Millia Islamia, New Delhi, and Dr. Rama Kondapalli, Former Senior Advisor, NAAC were the other members of the expert committee.
