The Department of Pediatric Cardiology at Amrita Institute of Medical Sciences conducted a one-day conference on Pediatric Pulmonary Hypertension on June 26, 2016. The conference focussed on diagnosis and management of children with pulmonary hypertension (condition with high pressure in lungs). The meeting was attended by over 100 delegates from all over India and Asia Pacific region. Dr. Ian Adatia, Pulmonary Hypertension Specialist, University of Alberta, Canada, was the keynote speaker. Leading global and regional experts in the field of pediatric pulmonary hypertension attended the meeting and they included Dr. Usha Krishnan (Columbia University, USA), Dr. B.K.S. Sastry (Cardiologist, Care Hospital, Hyderabad), Dr. Zulfikar Ahmed (Pediatric Cardiologist, SAT Hospital Trivandrum), Dr. R. Krishna Kumar (Professor and Head, Pediatric Cardiology, Amrita Institute of Medical Sciences, Kochi), Dr. Naveen Jain (Neonatologist, KIMS Hospital Trivandrum), Dr. K.K. Diwakar (Neonatologist, MOSC, Kolencherry) and Dr. Shine Kumar (Pulmonary Hypertension Specialist, Amrita Institute of Medical Sciences, Kochi).
