In observence of World Glaucoma Week , The Department of Opthalmology organiseda series of impactful initiatives aimed at raising awareness about glaucoma. The week-long campaign focused on educating the public about the importance of early detection and prevention through activities, including free eye pressure screenings and walkathon.
The event saw active participation from doctors, medical students, and the general public. Students from the Department of Ophthalmology staged an engaging and informative skit, highlighting the risks of untreated glaucoma and the significance of routine eye check-ups.
To raise more awareness, a walkathon was organized, bringing together healthcare professionals, patients, and supporters. Dr. Gopal S Pillai, Head, Department of Ophthalmology, officially flagged off the event, encouraging participants to take proactive steps in safeguarding their vision.
