School of Arts & Sciences, Kochi
Even as the Amrita School of Business is aspiring to become one of the first B-Schools in India with EQUIS accreditation, undergraduate students from Amrita are beginning to go abroad to earn postgraduate degrees from top international schools that are EQUIS-accredited.*
Surekha Ramesh and Aswathy A. who just graduated with B.Com. (Bachelor of Commerce) degrees from the Amrita School of Arts and Sciences, Kochi will travel to UK this fall for management studies at the Leeds University Business School.
While Surekha will concentrate on Human Resources Management, Aswathy will study finance and investments.
Surekha received a scholarship from the international university that will enable her to learn best practices such as diversity management in human resources.
For Aswathy, it was the many Vidyamritham seminars organized at her Kochi campus that helped awaken an interest in international finance.
Classes will begin for both in mid September. “Our life in Amrita has indeed been a rich and rewarding experience that provided us many opportunities to learn and grow, including this one wherein we will do our post graduation from one of the best international universities,” remarked the duo.
Both students were effusive in their praise of Amrita, and felt that it was their tenure here that helped them adequately prepare for obtaining admission to the UK university.
“The curriculum at Amrita helped us be in touch with latest issues in the field. Our faculty were always motivating us to do our best.”
“The values we imbibed on campus will always stay with us,” they emphasized.
Located in the sprawling premises of the Brahmasthanam Temple at Edappally, Kochi, the Amrita School of Arts and Sciences is known for its quality programs in various disciplines including commerce, management, visual media and journalism.
We congratulate the students and wish them the very best.
