A paper titled “Small Signal Modeling of Gas Turbine Plant for Load Frequency Control” authored by S. Selvakumar and Dr. S. Balamurugan of the Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering, Amrita School of Engineering, Coimbatore Campus, received the Best Paper Award in the IEEE Biennial International Conference on Power and Energy Systems towards Sustainable Energy (PESTSE – 2016) held at Amrita School of Engineering, Bengaluru during January 21-23, 2016. 

The award was given in the name of Prof. Muhammad H. Rashid who is well known internationally for his book on Power Electronics. He is currently working as Professor in Electrical and Computer Engineering, University of West Florida.

“It is a great honor to receive the best paper award from Prof. Muhammad H. Rashid. I thank the technical committee for choosing our paper as the best paper. This award is giving me a lot of motivation to achieve more in the future,” noted Dr. S. Balamurugan receiving the award.
