Mr. Prashant R.Nair, Vice-Chairman, Department of Computer Science & Engineering, Amrita School of Engineering, Coimbatore has been elected to following national leadership positions in various professional bodies in 2014 .

• Vice-Chair, IEEE Education Society (EdSoc). IEEE EdSoc is focused on development of technology for education in the fields of interest of IEEE, the world’s largest professional association, which publishes nearly a third of the world’s technical literature in electrical engineering, computer science and electronics. 
• Joint Secretary, IEEE Computer Society (CS). IEEE CS is focused on ongoing development of college computing curricula, publishing of top computing journals and support to conferences including recently held International Conference on Embedded Systems held at AMRITA Coimbatore campus in August, 2014.
• Treasurer, Institution of Electronics and Telecommunication Engineers (IETE), Tamil Nadu section. IETE, the Indian equivalent of IEEE, is recognized as Scientific and Research Organization (SIRO) of national eminence by the Government of India.
